AAU Team

THE AAU PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED AS AN ALTERNATIVE COMPETITIVE PROGRAM OFFERING INDIVIDUAL FLEXIBILITY TO COACHES AND GYMNASTS. THE GOAL OF AAU IS TO PROVIDE GYMNASTS OF VARYING ABILITIES AND COMMITMENT LEVELS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A FUN GYMNASTICS EXPERIENCE. THE PROGRAM ALLOWS A WIDE CHOICE IN SKILLS AT ALL LEVELS TO MEET REQUIREMENTS SO SELECTION MAY BE BASED ON AN INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE’S STRENGTHS.

After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU has focused its efforts into providing sports programs for all participants of all ages beginning at the grass roots level. The philosophy of “Sports for All, Forever,” is shared by more than 720,000 participants and over 150,000 volunteers. 

OUR GOAL IS TO PROGRESS THE GYMNASTS ABILITY WHILE PROVIDING STRUCTURE OF REPETITION, DISCIPLINE, AND BUILDING CONFIDENCE IN THEMSELVES AND AS ATHLETES. BY USING STRENGTH, CARDIO, FLEXIBILITY AND PROPER TECHNIQUES, WE GUIDE THE GYMNASTS THROUGH THE PROPER PROGRESSION OF SKILLS. THE AAU XCEL GUIDELINES AND CURRICULUM ARE BASED ON EVERY GYMNASTS’ VARYING ABILITY, EVERYONE CAN ALL REACH THE THEIR GOAL THROUGH A DIFFERENT PATH AND DIFFERENT SKILLS FOR A REWARDING GYMNASTICS EXPERIENCE.

Current Levels Offered: 

Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Starting off with AAU Bronze as the first intro level to competing you will see as the athletes progress in level the routine requirements increase in difficulty and hours in the gym will increase. AAU athletes currently train anywhere from 5 hours to 8 hours a week.

We typically do one Team Try-out a year end of April/ Early May. If you are interested in the program please reach out to the front desk . Athletes can only join our competition team between the months of May – July.  Individual evaluations can be scheduled at any time, please reach out to the front desk if interested.
